You can view our YouTube video to see more about our workJob descriptionThe ChallengeDIO have a career defining opportunity for a Senior Contracts and Facilities Manager to be responsible for the management of 12 mature Private Finance Initiative contracts with a total whole life value of £20bn. As a result of these efforts essential assets and services will be provided across the Defence Community. This ranges from strategic Headquarter sites in central London and Northwood, to military garrisons in Salisbury Plain, Aldershot and Colchester; and the provision of water and wastewater services across the GB estate. The postholder will be responsible for meeting the needs of the customer through effective management of the contract, delivering changes as their needs evolve, and being relentless in seeking out opportunities to maximise value; all to ensure we provide an outstanding service. Working with the customer the role will provide excellent advice to help shape future plans to ensure that we continue to meet the outstanding service aspirations. It is an opportunity to lead the PFI portfolio through to expiry, which is a significant and exciting challenge. Post LocationDIO SE Region has multiple sites for duty stations. We offer a flexible base location for this role and will therefore make one of these locations your duty station where possible. Where this is not possible, we will look to assign an alternative MOD establishment as your duty station. Work location will be agreed once the successful candidate has been selected.ResponsibilitiesMain ResponsibilitiesThe Deputy Head of PFI will be responsible for: • Providing leadership across the Group including enabling functions such as finance and commercial. This includes building a capable resilient team of over 58 people. • Direct line management of key people within the overall team • Ensuring that core contracted services are delivered in accordance with the contract and law, to ensure that customers can operate in a safe and legal environment with the agreed services • As a member of the senior management team (SE Region and Private Finance Initiatives) the role will support the Head of SE Region and PFI in delivering the Business Plan and building a diverse and inclusive environment • Working with customers to develop and deliver long-term cost plans to meet their changing needs and drive value to their business • Engaging with the supplier base to develop strong collaborative relationship across the complex stakeholder base to ensure alignment of vision, and resolve issues in a timely manner • Developing a strategic approach to contract exit, with finance and commercial leads, and then implementing plans for each contract in a timely manner. • Liaising with other stakeholders to support effective procurement of and transition to new contracting arrangements. Essential Experience:1. Experience of managing large and complex contracts. Ideally, significant experience of Public Private Partnership PPP/Private Finance Initiatives (PFI) contracts 2.
