An opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our School Nursing Team in Bristol. We are a supportive, skill mixed team, covering both mainstream and special schools.We are looking for candidates who have excellent communication skills, flexible in their approach to work, who work well under pressure, with the ability to build good relationships within the wider multi-agency team.You will need to work well within a team, but also with the ability to use your initiative and to be pro-active in working on your own. You will need to be child and family focused, with an understanding of the public health priorities for children, young people and families.The post holder will be a link School Health Nurse for a number of schools, able to manage an active caseload and safeguarding caseload, with support from Senior School Nurses and Safeguarding Supervisors. The role will include completing assessments, providing one to one work where required, and support for parents. Delivering a school based Drop-In, where appropriate and will have enhanced knowledge of SEND.The service supports all pupils of school age and those attending primary and secondary schools within Bristol. It works in partnership with multi-disciplinary health teams within community and acute services, local authority and voluntary sector teams to deliver a clinically effective, high quality health service to the school aged population.This is a permanent school health nurse position 18.75 hours per week, term time only in South Bristol based at Osprey Court, Unit 2, Hawkfield Business Park, Whitchurch Lane, Bristol BS14 0BB.Please note that we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if sufficient applications are received prior to the advertised closing date.For more information, please see the attached Job Description or contact Katy Green on.
