Team Leader - Employability Services for Young PeopleHastings or Eastbourne£27,000 - £29,000 per annum28-31 days holiday + 8 bank holidaysPension & Life AssuranceWe are working with a leading charity in the Southeast who support people to enhance their skills and build confidence, helping them into training, education, or employment, supporting over 50,000 people each year.As they continue to grow across the Southeast, they are recruiting for a Team Leader to work at an operational management level. The Team leader will provide line management support to a team of Advisers and administrative staff and is required to analysedata and information to deliver a high performing service. Working closely with the Area Manager, the Team Leader will maintain quality standards, develop new ways of working to improve efficiency and carry out regular auditing, whilst identifying relevantopportunities for staff.Key Duties:

  • Manage the delivery of a range of projects for young people in a team of two, to achieve KPI outcomes and consistent impact across the services provided.
  • Effectively manage a team of Skills and Employability Advisers, carry out regular line management supervision meetings and appraisals, supporting staff in their role and performance manage to a high standard.
  • Work closely with the managers to monitor caseload and working practice and initially agree, write and review mutually beneficial Service Level Agreements.
  • Be the first point of contact for all referrals into the service ensuring service standards are met.
  • Celebrate and encourage best practice, but also to identify and address possible weaknesses in delivery.
  • Provide leadership, management and support to staff working on the same contract, always acting as a role model.
  • Ensure compliance with Safeguarding procedures, as well as recording sick leave and monitoring annual leave, and expenses through the designated system.
  • Be aware of contract budgets and contribute to the management of resources within these set budgets including petty cash and funds.
  • Support the online presence of the service by managing social media activity, content within the company and partner websites and other digital marketing activity.
You should have
  • A qualification (minimum Level 3) in IAG or relevant experience.
  • Practical and procedural knowledge in a youth employability setting.
  • The ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders where necessary.
  • Experience of working constructively as part of a team and independently.
  • Extensive experience of managing performance in others, with the ability to motivate and inspire, setting clear development objectives.
  • Good level of IT and administrative skills.
  • An approachable manner with a strong personal energy level and resilience, as well as the ability to naturally motivate people.
  • The ability to be flexible, where evening and weekend work is required.
  • A full UK drivers licence.
