Job Description

Data Protection and Governance ManagerMedical ServicesRemote (1 day a month in office)Hastings, Kent£50-55,000The Atlas Recruitment Group are currently searching for a Data and Governance professional to join a highly reputable Medical Services organisation as a Data Protection and Governance Manager, on a permanent remote working basisAs a Data Protection and Governance Manager working with this organisation, you will play a key role in all things Data Protection, advising the business of its obligations to operate within the requirements of European and UK privacy regulations.Due to the sector the organisation serves, as well as GDPR, you will have a lot of focus on NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit.Other areas you will be responsible for are: -

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation including records of processing activities (ROPA), data protection policies, privacy notices and retention schedules
  • Lead on subject access requests (SAR) and other regulatory requests from clients, employees, reporters and external individuals
  • Support internal business teams with data protection impact assessments (DPIA) on behalf of clients and/or third parties and to also support the organisations own internal supplier management and assurance processes
  • Support the internal review of Data Protection Agreements (DPA) and other data protection related documentation
  • Work closely with the organisations Information Security Manager, to complete the annual NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit and other client assurance as required
  • Ensure Medica maintains good practice in the management of information and lead data governance committee
  • Support programmes and projects with data privacy reviews in line with business and stakeholder requirements
  • Monitor changes to privacy laws, healthcare information governance policies and other emerging trends that may impact the business
  • Define and deliver regular and relevant staff awareness training on data protection and privacy via the organisations internal training platform and in person where required.
