The Short Term Assessment, Rehabilitation and Reablement Service (STARRS) are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Specialist Nurses who will bring new ideas and share their excellent working practice within this busy, friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team.Are you a quick thinking, problem-solving dynamic Nurse Are you looking to enhance your assessment and treatment skills for patients in crisis Do you enjoy working alongside other professionals and services to achieve the best outcome for your patients This post could be what you are looking for!STARRS provides Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Dietician services which can include specialist assessment, equipment and short-term packages of care.In collaboration with the London Ambulance Service, General Practitioners and the Emergency Department we provide a fast-paced urgent response service, aimed at allowing patients to be cared for in their own home during times of medical crisis and prevent unnecessary admissions to an acute hospital. Alongside this energetic service we provide an equally comprehsive service to enable safe, timely Early Supported Discharge from the acute hospital, thereby, reducing the length of hospital stay by continuing patient care at home. The team is operational 7 days a week between the hours of 08:00 and 20:30.We require Specialist Nurses with experience in a wide variety of clinical areas including the community setting. You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning, risk assessment, verbal and written communication skills. Due to the response standards for the team you must be able to work under pressure and provide timely specialist nurse assessments and interventions. You will be expected to be able to work autonomously and undertake visits in line with the STARRS’ Lone Working Policy.Experience of supervising other staff and students would be an advantage.You will receive informal and formal supervision from experienced nurse colleagues within the team. You will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your existing high-level skills in an intermediate care setting. Through our ‘Top to Toe’ training you will be proficient to undertake advanced clinical assessment of patients, which includes recognsing and managing acutely unwell patients in the community.
