He is a ball of energy and likes to run around and ride his bike. Finn has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and has complexbehaviour, sensory, and emotional needs. Finn is verbal but has a speech delay. There are certain triggers e.g. a change of routine, frustration when not being able to communicate his needs, that can lead to anxiety and behaviour that may challenge. This couldpresent with outbursts, hitting or spitting. Youll be skilled to identify triggers and de-escalate the situation quickly. Finn is starting a specialist school in September which he is looking forward to.Overview of role: We are seeking a lively and fun SEN Nanny/Manny to support Finn with his after-school routine and during school holidays. The role will involve picking him up from school, planning age-appropriate activities, assisting with homework, dinner preparation, bedtimeroutine and light housework/ nursery duties. You will support Finn with his self-care and independence skills, such as brushing his teeth. Finn needs a clear, structured routine to reduce his anxiety. Finn attends the wonderful Chickenshed theatre group onWednesdays which he enjoys, and you will accompany him there. Finn is learning to swim; you need to be confident in the water. Monday to Friday 3.00pm to 7.00pm, 20 hours per week, term-time and school holidays. Start/finish times in the school holidays mayvary (by mutual agreement) depending on the activities arranged.£18.00 gross per hour.Who this job would suit: This lovely position will suit a caring and proactive, hands-on SEN nanny or Manny who is calm, patient and has experience and a good understanding of autism.
