Job Description

Children Support WorkerPay Rate: £11-£16 per hourLocation: Greater Manchester AreaJob Type: Part timeWe are seeking a dedicated Children Support Worker to join our team. The role involves providing advice, assistance, and support to young people, safeguarding their welfare, and attending to their practical, physical, and emotional needs. The ideal candidatewill act as an appropriate role model and work closely with young people to help them address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.Day-to-day of the role:

  • Motivate service users to access the local community and engage in positive activities.
  • Commit to assignments, providing structure and stability for service users.
  • Establish positive relationships with young people, offering them unconditional and positive regard.
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating appropriate pro-social ways of dealing with problems.
  • Follow and amend care plans as appropriate to reflect the changing needs of young people.
  • Meet the physical, emotional, behavioural, cultural, and educational needs of young people.
  • Provide emotional support during times of difficulty or stress.
  • Be ambitious for young people, helping them achieve their goals and optimise their potential.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Suitable to work with children & young people within a care setting.
  • Ability to relate to and communicate with young people, forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries.
  • Awareness of safeguarding issues and the ability to safeguard the welfare of young people.
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working in the care sector in the UK.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • An up-to-date DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
