Were basedacross England, and our responsibilities span industry regulation, flood defences, land contamination, water quality, fisheries, and conservation.Climate Change is the biggest risk we face. We are planning for future flood scenarios including a 4oC rise in global temperature and are working with government, local councils, businesses, civil society groups and communities to make our environment abetter place for people and wildlife.As an Asset Management Field Operative you will be part of one of our Field teams, whose purpose is to protect people and the environment by maintaining and operating our flood and coastal risk management assets and responding to incidents. This role isprimarily a field-based role and you will be required to work outside in all weathers. The Environment Agency are a Category 1 responder and as such you will take part in a regular standby roster, which means you will be available to respond to an incidentor emergency 24/7 over a 7-day period. You will be paid to do this in addition to your basic pay and you may also be invited to work in different parts of the country during extreme flooding events.Our Field Operatives have a range of technical skills including the use of chainsaw, strimmer / brushcutters and other small power tools, as well as hand tools and specialist equipment, including heavy plant and boats.
