Job Description

Service, Installation and Commissioning EngineerSalary Guide: £35,500 - £37,500 pa, plus Overtime rateCompany is based in the Huntingdon - Cambourne area (Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire).We are seeking a skilled Service, Installation and Commissioning Engineer to cover site installations, service and breakdowns both in the UK and overseas. This is working for an established leader in the design and manufacture of processing equipment andsolutions for the food processing sector.In this interesting and varied "hands on" role the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, service, installation and commissioning of equipment. The candidate will also be responsible for troubleshootingand resolving breakdowns on-site and providing technical support to customers.Candidates will be based at the clients site in the Cambourne area and will need to travel to customers sites both in the UK and overseas.Responsibilities:

  • Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment.
  • Install and commission equipment on customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns on site.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and provide regular progress reports to management.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments and new technologies.
Requirements:
  • City & Guilds qualifications or apprenticeship in Engineering would be an advantage.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical repairs, service, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Any experience in PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting would be an advantage, full training in this aspect would be given if necessary.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Full UK driving license.
