Job Description

Multi-Skilled Machine Service and Installation Engineer Salary Guide:

  • When based at the clients site up to £18.50 per hour (£37,500 pa)
  • When working away at a customers location - £19.50 per hour
  • Over time is paid at time and half PLUS Site Allowances & Travel Expenses
Company is based in the Huntingdon - Cambourne area (Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire) with regularUK and worldwide travel.Long-established and highly respected leader in the design and manufacture of processing equipment and solutions for the food processing sector is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Machine Service and Installation Engineer.In this interesting and varied "hands on" role, the Machine Service and Installation Engineer will be directly responsible for the day to day running of any repair or refurbishment projects and connected activities incurred on the shop floor and on customersites. This includes Mechanical and Electrical Repairs, Health & Safety, Inspection and Discipline.Candidates will be mainly based at the clients site in the Cambourne/St Neots area and will need to travel regularly to their customers sites both in the UK and overseas, to assist with site installations, service and breakdowns.This role is ideal if you enjoy UK and overseas travel.Responsibilities:
  • Carry out mechanical repairs and some electrical repairs on equipment.
  • Install and commission equipment on customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns on site.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and provide regular progress reports to management.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments and new technologies.
Requirements:
  • City & Guilds qualifications or apprenticeship in Engineering would be an advantage.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical repairs, service, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Any experience in PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting would be an advantage, full training in this aspect would be given if necessary.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Full UK driving license and valid Passport.
