Job Description

Machine Tool Fitter with UK & worldwide travel Salary Guide: £35,500 - £37,500 pa + paid overtime, site allowances & travel expensesCompany is based in the Huntingdon - Cambourne area (Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire) with Worldwide Travel.Long-established and highly respected leader in the design and manufacture of processing equipment and solutions for the food processing sector is seeking an experienced Machine Tool Fitter.This role is ideal if you enjoy worldwide travel.The Machine Tool Fitter will cover site installations, service and breakdowns both in the UK and overseas.In this interesting and varied "hands on" role, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, service, installation and commissioning of equipment. The candidate will also be responsible for troubleshootingand resolving breakdowns on-site and providing technical support to customers.Candidates will be mainly based at the clients site in the Cambourne area and will need to occasionally travel to customers sites both in the UK and overseas.Responsibilities:

  • Carry out mechanical repairs and some electrical repairs on equipment.
  • Install and commission equipment on customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns on site.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and provide regular progress reports to management.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments and new technologies.
Requirements:
  • City & Guilds qualifications or apprenticeship in Engineering would be an advantage.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical repairs, service, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Any experience in PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting would be an advantage, full training in this aspect would be given if necessary.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Full UK driving license and Passport.
