Job Description

General Builder / Multi Trades PersonFull-time - PermanentSalary up to £35,500 pa, with overtime paid at time and a halfLocation: Cambourne areaGeneral Builder / Multi Trades Person is required by engineering company to undertake various tasks ranging from new building projects, restoration and maintenance works, minor repairs. The work will involve working within both Domestic and Industrial premises.The main work location is based in the Cambourne area, with occasionally working on other sites near Royston.Typical Duties:

  • Perform various construction tasks such as bricklaying, plastering, rendering, wall and floor tiling, roofing, path laying, timber frame building, drainage, as well as general building maintenance and repairs.
  • Operate general building machinery such as mini digger, dumper trucks, etc.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and suppliers.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Ideal applicant must have:
  • Significant experience within the building industry.
  • A strong skill-set is required in some or all of the following: bricklaying, plastering, rendering, wall and floor tiling, roofing, path laying, timber frame building, drainage as well as general building maintenance and repairs.
  • Good experience in groundworks e.g. foundation work is required.
  • Capable to plan and manage your own works diary when working alone, work to programmes, deadlines and schedules with good timekeeping.
The General Builder / Multi Trades Person will be expected to be reliable, competent, and polite. Have good house-keeping abilities to ensure that your site is kept at an acceptable level of cleanliness.Employment will include the option of overtime when available and weekend working.
