Position Overview:We are looking for a Stores Operative to join us as we go through an exciting growth phase in Cambridge.Do you have a background in the day-to-day running of a stock room or in a logistics environment Maybe you just have an interest in science and want to kick off your career with a leading company in the sector This may be the opportunity for you.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Inventory management (consumables, chemicals, samples) and accurate inventory control, processing requests leading to inventory movement on and off site, and fulfilling customer metric reporting
Inventory management related functions such as monitoring slow moving and dead inventory, conduct cycle counting, yearly physical inventories, and reporting
Purchasing functions including back order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, managing quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues
Shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping information into the customer computer system, and equipment inspections
Handling hazardous material and preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements

Experience Required:

Experience in stock room/warehouse environments
Knowledge/experience of Inventory Stock Management Systems
Understanding and experience of Health & Safety requirements
Computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
Outstanding communication skills at all levels and the confidence to make decisions
