Job Description

Lab ManagerCambridgeThe Opportunity: This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Laboratory Manager or Supervisor to join a successful and established service support organisation working with the UK’s top pharmaceutical companies. They are looking for communicative, enthusiastic individuals with experience managing a team in a scientific/ laboratory environment. In return, they offer a competitive salary with a healthy benefits package.Responsibilities:

  • Operational management of a functional laboratory, acting as a point of contact for scientists
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure operational efficiency
  • Proactively lead the process to investigate deviations by root cause analysis
  • Work with onsite teams to actively manage laboratory consumables inventories ensuring overall knowledge and oversight of consumables/usage/change requirements
  • Monitor and track spend aligned to laboratory consumables. Has a clear understanding of spend in their own lab space by producing/reviewing spend report and taking actions.
  • Perform laboratory ways of working’ tours for new staff working in the area to familiarise them with lab policies and procedures ahead of commencing any lab work.
  • Work with IT/other service providers to ensure equipment is running effectively, scientists have what they need and that customer assets (especially high cost equipment) are fully utilised.
  • Track and deliver cost savings and cost avoidance and reports back to customer FM and procurement.
    • About You:
  • Experience working in a management/ supervisory position in a laboratory essential
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of SHE policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of GLS, and GxP regulations, audit requirements and CAPAs
  • Proven excellent customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively
  • Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills
  • Able to partner with other teams and suppliers and deliver results in a matrix environment, managing multiple internal and external partners/stakeholders.
