Job Description

Head of Electrical Were looking for an exceptional Head of Electrical to join phs Compliance and be part of our success. If youre aqualified Electricianwith experience managing and motivating a team of engineers to deliver high performance, we want to speak with you!phs compliancefocuses onhelping more than 2,000 UK business customers test, install and manage their property infrastructure assets. phs Compliance self-delivers electrical test and inspection, M&E installation & maintenance & asset verificationwith over 400 engineers based nationwide. Our technical and quality management standards are second to none, we are one of a few UK Companies accredited to UKAS 17020 inspection body standards for fixed wire and portableappliance testing.The role of Head of Electrical at phs will involve:

  • Responsible for delivering revenue and gross profit targets nationally for the fixed wire and Remedial Service lines
  • Managing resource at the correct capacity and competency to maximise operational success
  • Ensure all Technical and Operational procedures are followed whilst complying with company accreditations and current legislation.
  • Work with the sales and commercial team on business opportunities to support fixed wireand remedial growth nationally.
  • Manage contract delivery and build strong customer relationships.
  • Manage day to day operation nationally for Fixed Wire Testing and Remedial works, working closely with the operations managers, commercial team and planning
  • Responsibility for the national fixed wire and remedial P&L
  • Operational lead for interface with, and support to customers
  • Manage and mentor the Operations Managers and direct reports to ensure that all colleagues fully understand the key performance indicators
  • To audit and support the team in achieving high health and safety, quality and technical standards
  • Oversee large projects, mobilisations and remedial works
  • Responsibility for delivering revenue and gross profit targets for fixed wire and remedial nationally
  • To liaise with Head of Planning and Planning team leaders on a weekly basis
  • Attend client meetings as required including site surveys, pre-start meetings, complaint resolution and contract support.
Person requirements
  • To be the guardian of fixed wire and remedial service delivery nationally.
  • A motivational leader who inspires teams to drive delivery and high performance.
  • A smart and analytical leader, who can propose flexible alternatives and see ways around issues to achieve continuous improvement and development.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and its importance in the workplace.
  • Familiar with performance management and people development tools.
  • Demonstrates resilience and overcomes setbacks, using all feedback as productive and improvement opportunity
  • Strong commercial mind and be able to make logical, cost effective and well thought out decisions
  • Essential requirements
  • Ideally based in the Midlands or North England
  • Electrical qualifications required
  • Time served as an Electrician
  • IOSH Managing Safely or willingness to achieve
  • ILM level 3 or equivalent work experience
  • Holds a valid driving licence
  • Experience managing an electrical team, preferably in the testing environment
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience of operating with a large-scale engineering workforce
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with the client.
