Head of EnglishAre you an enthusiastic and qualified English teacher who is ready to take on a leadership role Do you have a passion for literature and language and a desire to share it with students of all abilities and backgrounds Do you have qualified teacher status(QTS) or qualified teacher learning and skills status (QTLS) in England and WalesIf you answered yes to these questions, then you might be the perfect candidate for the position of head of English at our school. We are looking for a head of English to join our vibrant and supportive team of staff and students. You will be responsiblefor leading and managing the English department, ensuring high quality teaching and learning, curriculum development, student achievement, staff development and resource management. You will also work closely with the senior leadership team to contribute tothe strategic direction and vision of the school.As the head of English, you will:Lead and motivate a team of English teachers and teaching assistants, creating a culture of collaboration, excellence and accountabilityDevelop and implement a challenging and engaging English curriculum that meets the needs and interests of all students, from KS3 to KS5, and prepares them for further education and careers in EnglishMonitor and evaluate the quality and impact of English teaching and learning, using data, observation and feedback to identify areas of strength and improvementProvide effective and timely support and intervention for students who are underachieving or have additional needs in EnglishPlan and deliver high quality professional development for English staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver outstanding English lessonsManage the English budget and resources, ensuring they are used efficiently and effectively to enhance English teaching and learningPromote and celebrate the achievements and successes of the English department, both within the school and the wider communityKeep up to date with the latest developments and best practices in English education and share them with the English team and the schoolTo be successful in this role, you will:
