Job Description

Warehouse Operations Manager, Salary: £50-55k negotiable dependant on skills / experience, 37.5hrs per week MondayFriday. Based in Glossop. We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operations Manager an award-winning and market leading supplier of rugs to the retail sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to lead and develop the multi-site teams through anexciting phase of growth, as well as having an influence in the future strategy of the business wide operations and be part of a company who welcome fresh perspectives/ideas and who continue to thrive for the best.The role: The Warehouse Operations Manager willjoin large and established team, leading the warehouse, maintenance and returns teams.

  • Responsible for a team of c70 employees, including shift managers and team leaders.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies
  • Ownership of and adherence to budgets through managing resource.
  • Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
  • Have a clear understanding of the companys policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
  • Lead on process and automation improvements
  • Plan future capacity requirements
  • Manage the maintenance of both sites, ensuring tasks are efficiently planned and budgets are achieved.
  • Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
  • Oversee the return of goods to ensure efficient handling and processing
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
  • Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
  • Where appropriate, oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems
Candidate requirements:
  • Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager / Operations Manager role
  • Experience of delivering warehouse process improvement
  • Ability to instil a customer focussed mentality
  • Experience of motivating and managing a large team in distribution centre environment
  • Utilise data driven decision making to improve performance across the operation
  • Experience of delivering projects on time and budget.
