Job Description

Are you a Clinical Psychologist seeking a new permanent role with a leading global healthcare provider that aligns with your career aspirationsSanctuary Personnel, a highly established psychological therapy recruitment agency is recruiting on behalf of a private world-class healthcare provider, who are an outstanding independent provider of high-quality residential care and on-site education forchildren and young people aged 11 to 17 years.The salary for this role is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience.Our client is currently seeking a Clinical Psychology Lead, to join a children and young people’s team in Glossop, Peak District. Residents may exhibit diverse and intricate needs stemming from social, emotional, and behavioural challenges experienced duringtheir developmental stages. Our client takes pride in their nurturing and supportive approach, employing innovative strategies to effectively engage young individuals and assist them in overcoming adversities. Whether the children are under your care for short-termrespite care, intensive crisis intervention, or longer-term placements as they progress towards semi-independence, our client is committed to their well-being and growth.Key Responsibilities of the Clinical Psychologist Lead:

  • Conducting regular and thorough psychological assessments of children and young individuals to evaluate their mental health, emotional well-being, and behavioural challenges, ensuring comprehensive understanding and appropriate support.
  • Serving as the lead for mental health first aid, guiding young people towards external services that align with their specific needs.
  • Collaborating in the formulation of personalised short, medium, and long-term care plans for everyone, aiming to enhance psychological outcomes and effectively communicating professional insights to relevant stakeholders.
  • Engaging in direct interaction, support, or observation to inform guidance for care staff working with these individuals, dedicating a minimum of 3 hours per month to each young person.
  • Assisting children and young individuals in defining their own objectives and aspirations, facilitating personal, educational, and social growth and adaptation.
  • Employing various assessment methods, including psychometric evaluations, interviews, and direct observations, to track the clinical progress of young individuals under our care, and suggesting adjustments to therapeutic approaches as needed.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with children and young individuals, actively safeguarding their well-being, advocating for their needs, and ensuring their psychological welfare is prioritised.
Qualifications and Requirements of the Clinical Psychologist Lead:
  • A first-class (or upper second) honours degree.
  • Possession of a relevant Masters degree (MSc or MPhil) or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
  • Current registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Completion of a PhD in Clinical Psychology, including relevant clinical/research experience obtained under the supervision of a clinical psychologist.
  • Documented evidence of both directed and self-directed continuing professional development activities (CPD).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Possession of a full manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • At least 12 months of post-doctoral work experience in the UK.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a person-centred approach when working with clients.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to empathize with individuals during times of crisis.
  • Capability to produce clear and concise reports and effectively convey complex issues to individuals with limited or no specialised knowledge.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for applying academic knowledge and practical/research experience to address a wide array of clinical challenges.
