Job Description

Production Planner£30,000 - £35,000GlossopOur client, a designer and manufacturer of high quality valves, supplying in to the oil and gas industries, now has an excellent opportunity for a Production Planner. This is simply an excellent opportunity to join a company with a solid brand in the market.They require an experienced Production Planner with excellent knowledge of MRP systems and Shop Floor Loading to coordinate their CNC machine shop and assembly department to ultimately minimise lead times, improve on time deliveries, and increase efficiencies within this growing business.Other Duties Include:

  • Planning the production of machined components to ensure efficient utilisation of the CNC machine shop and achievement of on-time delivery of components to assembly department
  • Liaising with suppliers and employees to ensure all material and resources will be available when required
  • Use SEIKI Shop Floor Loading software to manage our production schedule
  • Present status of sales orders to the sales team to relay to our customers
  • Coordinate supply of materials with internal and external suppliers to; minimise lead times; achieve on time deliveries; and maximise stock turnover levels
  • Manage on time deliveries for works orders and purchase orders to ensure customer sales orders are delivered in a timely manner, to the correct specification, and quality standards
  • Working with the Quality Manager to improve the overall operational efficiency of the business
    • Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Material Control and Planning in a manufacturing and production environment is essential
  • Well educated to minimum HNC/HND level
  • MRP/ERP experience (ideally Progress Plus and/or SEIKI)
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and exporting data to create effective information, for example; shortage reports; machine efficiencies, OTIF data
  • Strong team player with proven written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
  • Be able to multitask and cope with a fast paced working environment
  • Customer focused and driven by achieving on time delivery performance.
