Job Description

Job descriptionWorking within the Quality Department the role of Quality Engineer works under the direction of the Quality Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives whilst ensuring compliance of products to established internal quality, external regulatory andcustomers standards.Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the hosting of external Quality System audits
  • Conducting internal and external audits (based on the integrated standards ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001)
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes meet required standards.
  • The production of monthly quality report on Productions Right First Time
  • Raise/follow up NCRs, coordinate between internal departments and/or external suppliers through investigations on quality issues, complete and close NCRs
  • Implementation of Site Quality Management Systems
  • Drive and deliver RoadMap projects
  • Provide training on Quality processes
  • Coordinate the review of Quality procedures associated with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Review CSMS/CAPA actions for effective completion ensuring actual root cause has been evaluated and effective CAPA actions implemented.
  • Facilitate the implementation of CAPA actions linked to the internal & external audits
  • Ensure that all suppliers meet the quality requirements of the company (especially through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) processes when applicable)
  • Review and management of supplier non-conformances and CAPA programmes
  • Evaluation of trials and generation of information to support any change applications
  • Provision of technical support in the selection of new & existing suppliers of raw materials and components
  • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke, and Measurement System Analysis, DMAIC
  • Provide suppliers NCR performance information to Procurement for suppliers audits
Qualifications or Functional Experience
  • Ideally a degree background in Science or an Engineering related degree or possessing appropriate industry experience with HNC.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding and application of lean Six Sigma tools, DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve & Control) principles and applications.
  • Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
  • Auditor for ISO 9001:2015
  • Proficient in the use of Minitab or an alternative data analysis software
  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge
  • Detailed understanding of ISO9001:2015
  • Understanding of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
