Job Description

BRUSH is seeking a Financial Accountant to take responsibility for the preparation of Monthly Management accounts and the integrity of the General Ledger. The postholder will also ensure adherence to all accounting and tax reporting requirements and be responsiblefor the implementation and monitoring of Shared Service processes and internal controls. The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller at the BRUSH Switchgear Site in Blackwood, South Wales. Main Responsibilities

Take full responsibility for the financial accounting, including month-end prepayments, accruals, inventory & warranty provisions, payroll hedge and lease accounting
Month-end controllership checks (incl review of WIP, project provisions and accruals)
Ownership of the Balance sheet, including reconciliations and the review process
Responsible for the Fixed Asset Ledger control and reconciliation
Process owner for the consolidation tool load & month end reporting to Group, including integrity of the data and reconciliation to the Trial Balance
Responsible for VAT Reporting
Ownership of ERP financial reporting (data integrity and reporting)
National Statistics Reporting
Insurance declaration
Intercompany reconciliation and reporting
Responsible for the co-ordination of the year-end audit for the management accounts / statutory accounts including justification of all balances
Production of Statutory Accounts
Responsible for producing the year-end tax pack, including review and maintenance of data integrity.
Provide first level Tax support for the business

Person SpecificationQualifications

CIMA, ACA, or ACCA qualified or part qualified (working towards)

Skills

Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Demonstrate integrity and the ability to challenge
Delivery of process improvements
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
Good excel skills essential (Advanced skills desirable)
Ability to work at both transactional and reporting levels
Experience of ERP Systems improvement/implementation
