Our client who is actively seeking a Deputy Manager provides Montessori full day care for children from 3 months to 5 years.They are located in a refurbished and well equipped homely setting, with extensive gardens.This position requires a confident, experienced individual who is organised and passionate about child development.The Nursery is keen to hear from Senior Practitioners and Room Leaders ready and able to take the next step to Deputy Manager and from Deputy Managers who already have solid experience in a child led learning environment.Essential Requirements• Great organisational and resource management skills with minimal need for close supervision, can-do attitude, positive energy, and real passion for helping children get the best possible start in their education.• Solid understanding of EYFS and the statutory framework, and experience in putting these to work to raise standards and meet Ofsted requirements.• 2 years + experience in a setting practising the Montessori approach or minimally substantial knowledge of the Montessori method and use of materials.• Significant experience in Safeguarding and in developing and executing planning and progression of childrens development• Numerate with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.• Reliable and mature, with strong people skills, self confident and able to lead and motivate.• Flexible and receptive to changeKey responsibilities:• Working with the Manager and the management team, plan and deliver quality education and ongoing improvement of standards.• Supervision, mentoring and training of the team, motivating them with a shared sense of direction and pride.• Implement a high standard of safety, security and child protection, ensuring procedures are applied properly by all staff.• In the absence of the manager, day-to-day management of the Nursery, organising and implementing the curriculum for the EYFS using the Montessori approach to ensure high-quality childcare, meeting the requirements of the Children’s Act and the EYFS Welfare Requirements.• Identify staff training and development needs, working with the Manager to meet these.• Participate in development and execution of marketing plans to maximise occupancy.• Maintain strong parent/ carer relationships, with positive ongoing engagement, resolving any issues that arise working with the right people in the team.• Count within ratio as a key worker and deliver excellent operational practice when required, providing a good example to the team.• Ensure that team members complete relevant paperwork and implement highest standards in quality practices.
