Network and Server Engineer

Job Type: Full-time/Permanent
Location: Cambridgeshire, with hybrid working option
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

We are seeking a Network and Server Engineer to join a global IT team. This role is crucial for designing and configuring the network environment to align with business objectives. The successful candidate will also manage, support, and monitor the networkand servers, and be involved in cyber security activities. Additionally, when possible, the role includes providing L2/L3 support in collaboration with Desktop Support Engineers, primarily for otherUK sites. Day to day of the role:

Manage and configure firewalls (Cisco firepower) and switches (Cisco and Aruba).
Oversee VPN management (Cisco AnyConnect) and patch management.
Administer the virtual environment (vSphere 8 / VMWare / Citrix) and servers (mostly virtual and Windows-based).
Handle Citrix/Remote Desktop Services, backup management, and provide L2/L3 desktop support when primary responsibilities are fulfilled.
Support Windows 7, 10, M365, and Microsoft Azure environments.
Engage in cyber security activities and support the IT infrastructure in a regulated business setting.

Excellent fault-finding and documentation skills.
Experience with Red Hat Linux, Cyber Essentials, and Intune application packaging/deployment is beneficial.
