Therefore, you will be required to use your specialist knowledge and experience to support and assist the staff team support our children and their families. You will encourage each individual to achieve their potential, despite of any challenges you or they may face.You will also be responsible for safeguarding the young people and ensuring they are healthy, safe and as comfortable as possible. This can be achieved by assisting with the physical, emotional and personal care needs for each individual.   • Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Provide consistent support to all pupils, responding appropriately to individual pupil needs
  • Assist with the development of pupils Wellbeing Plans
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
  • Promote self-esteem and independence, employing strategies to recognise and reward achievement within established school procedure
  • Who are we looking forThe Holden School needs a responsible, friendly and caring individual who has a passion for caring for and ultimately, making a difference to young lives. It will be a challenging yet rewarding role with the opportunity to see the young people progress and develop over time.We need someone who can manage their own workload, can liaise with outside agencies, chair meetings and support our families. The successful applicant will need to great communication skills, can manage their workload, and be prepared for the varying difficulties the role may present.Key responsibilities
  • Under guidance from the Headteacher to engage with vulnerable families in order to formulate a package of support
  • To act as a point of contact in school for families in need of support
  • To signposting for families and refer for support when appropriate
  • Liaise professionally with external agencies such as Housing, NSPCC, Sure Start,
  • Social Care, Early Intervention Teams, Passenger Transport, YOS and Police.
  • To complete appropriate referral forms to external agencies as and when required
  • To attend multi-agency meetings as appropriate.
  • To carry out home visits where necessary
  • To build effective relationships with families
  • To provide opportunities for families to engage with the school before their child begins to establish support and build relationships before the child starts at the school
  • Essential criteria
  • You must have experience with supporting and working with young people, in a school or care environment
  • You must be available to work the shifts required
  • You must have a level of fitness which will allow you to handle certain challenges you may face with the young people
