We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer; we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all.WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING Were looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial and contractual management of a portfolio of telecoms projects, these include; new build, city enhancement projects and field service frameworks. The role will ensure that Operations and Service Delivery are fully protected under the contract terms and comply with the relevant statutory requirements e.g. Construction Act. Youll also;

  • Manage the commercial resources of the assigned project (or region/workstream) to manage planned expenditure through the placement and control of contracts
  • Value work executed by contractors and certifying interim and final payments
  • Support the authorisation and submission of project variations
  • Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, implementing the companies policies for risk management
  • Provide commercial and contractual expertise to contracts which includes the production and submission of valuation certification, drafting and issuing correspondence, claims, budget monitoring and producing contract/workstream performance data
  • Coach/develop and mentor multi-disciplinary peers through commercial and contractual process
  • Assist in the monthly measurement of supplier KPIs and reporting
  • Provide robust, timely and accurate cost and value data at both project and regional levels including their progress in relation to the programme schedule
  • Provide commercial information from projects to enable estimation at programme level to occur
  • Undertake estimation of future work for pre-sales
  • Act as the contractual and commercial guardian within the business
  • Coach, develop and mentor junior members of staff
  • WHAT WILL YOU BRING Youll have solid experience in commercial management and the procurement of contractors, with a working knowledge of NEC3 ECC forms. A background working in a civil engineering / passive networks is preferable. Youll also have;
  • The ability to negotiate with suppliers and partners
  • Experience using spreadsheets to interpret and collate financial data
  • Presentation and report writing skills
  • HNC/HND level education, or equivalent
  • Experience of NRSWA and SRWR street works requirements (desirable)
  • RICS Chartership (desirable)
  • An analytical and numerical mind and the ability to identify and resolve problems
  • The ability to priorities a high-volume workload and ensures deadlines are achieved
