Job Description

Stores PersonOur client Established in 1981, our client have been at the forefront of industrial valve reconditioning, maintenance and repair for 40 years. Their activities span all the major industrial processes in the UK - ferrous/non-ferrous material production, petrochemicals, power generation including gas/coal-fired and renewable production, extracting and manufacturing - and their client list includes some of the best-known brands in the country. Excellent modern facilities at their well-equipped workshops in Swansea and Pembroke Dock enable them to cope with valves ranging from ½ inches up to 120 inches in diameter. ROLE JOB TITLE: Stores Person SALARY: CompetitivePOSITION: 3-6 Month probationary through Agency with view to go Full Time (After successful completion) START: Immediate Start Available REPORTS TO: Operations Manager SUMMARYAs a Stores Person (sometimes referred to as a Stock Controller), your main responsibility will be to take deliveries and manage stock levels. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but not limited to:) The exact role of a Stores Person will differ depending on the needs of the organisation, but some common duties of the role are to: * Work closely with the Operations Manager & Financial department on stock requirements * Be responsible for receiving and checking all deliveries * Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner* Procurement of stock for Service & Sales jobs and raising of Purchase Orders when required. * Liaise with suppliers and handle queries relating to delivery and stock discrepancies * Keep a record of and report any frequent shortages or spare items * Keep inventory management systems up to date * Carry out regular stock takes * Organise and deliver goods from the stores to the relevant departments as required QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE * Experience working in a similar inventory or stock control role * You must be self-motivated and willing to learn * Must be I.T Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel (Desired) * Experience in SAGE 50 Accounts (Desired) * Forklift Trained & Valid Ticket held (Desired) * Excellent Organisations skills with the attention to detail * Educated to a minimum of GCSE 4/C or above in English and Maths. * A Full UK Driving licence BENEFITS * Full Certified training provided by company. * Company NEST Pension * 20 Days Annual Holiday + Bank HolidaysGi Group Holdings Recruitment Limited group of companies includes Gi Recruitment Limited, Draefern Limited, Gi Group Recruitment Ltd, INTOO (UK) Limited, Marks Sattin (UK) Limited, TACK TMI UK Limited and Grafton Professional Staffing Limited.
