A large and highly successful manufacturing company is looking to recruit an IT Support Technician to join their growing IT department, to be based at their Huddersfield, HD8 officesRole Responsibilities:• First point of contact for User support• Installing, configuring and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems• Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues• Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components• Ensuring the security of client and server computers by installing and updating necessary software• Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly• Stock management and procurement of IT consumables• Provide User training to all new starters• Provide training on new hardware and software including unified communications system, conferencing equipment, printers, company ERP, cyber security training etcSkills and Qualifications:• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent• Good communication skills to clearly communicate with users and technical colleagues via telephone, Teams, e-mail or face to face interaction• Analytical and logical approach to problem solving• Prioritisation skills• Technologies and systems used in a manufacturing environment (desirable)• Working with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft 365 Applications (desirable)Desirable Personal Skills A diligent and positive approach to work, with a mindset of continual improvement To keep calm and work under pressure to efficiently handle peaks in demand and reassure users that their problem will be dealt with Good listening and questioning skills To quickly learn new systems and concepts To work effectively by yourself and as part of a small, responsive teamHours of WorkPermanent full-time contract working on-site 38 hours per week (8am-5pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-12pm Fri)If you are interested in the role of IT Support Technician, please submit your CV for consideration
