Job Description

A highly successful manufacturer of precision machined products and components requires an Engineering Manager to be based at their Huddersfield, HD8 siteReporting into the Technical Director, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the Engineering Team.The Role:

  • Managing staff and assign tasks to engineering personnel
  • Implement and refine product development, testing and manufacturing processes
  • Assure that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines
  • Oversee project requirements and resource allocation
  • Create and oversee budgets and engage in cost management strategies
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Forge and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers
Skills and attributes required:
  • Experience in planning, managing and delivering design and development projects involving small to medium batch manufacturing of complex products and components
  • Experience in managing teams within an engineering / manufacturing focussed environment
  • Knowledge of Quality standards within manufacturing and engineering sectors
  • Strong analytical and IT skills, budget and risk management
  • Mechanisal Design / Engineering background - Degree qualified or apprentice trained
