Thermal Analysis Engineer Coventry £50k + Package.

Progressive Engineering and a Global Engineering Innovator in Automotive Electric Drive / E-Drive Technology are looking to recruit a Thermal Analysis Engineer for their Innovation HQ near Coventry, owing to significant business growth and productdevelopment projects for 2023+.Based near Coventry, the Thermal Analysis Engineer will be a key member of a Global Mechanical Analysis Team (support various Engineering Teams in Power Electronics, Magnetic & Mechanical Engineering) and will be involved in all phases of the product developmentlifecycle.Specifically, the Thermal Analysis Engineer will carry out finite element thermal analysis of electric motors, inverters, and other power electronics, ensuring that current & new Electromechanical Products (Drives & Motors) meet thermal requirements.Specifically, the Thermal Analysis Engineer will:
  • Carry out finite element thermal analysis of electric motors, inverters, and other power electronics
  • Give design recommendations, perform trade off studies and sensitivity analyses
  • Collaborate with the other teams to develop and optimize products with respect to performance, efficiency, cost, manufacturability, and reliability goals.
  • Support the design teams during the continuous improvement phases.
  • Liaise with external service providers and other electrification technology centres
Qualification & Experience Required for Thermal Analysis Engineer role:
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
  • Experience using mechanical modelling software
  • Previous experience of carrying out thermal analysis on ElectroMechanical Systems
  • Excel at working in multidisciplinary teams, and with complex matrix-structured organizations
  • Good communicator, collaborator, and problem solver
  • Relevant experience in steady state and transient thermal analysis
  • High attention to detail
  • Take accountability for your work
  • Focused on quality
  • Innovative with a positive, can-do mindset and attitude
  • Confident communicator who can build rapport quickly and influence at all levels
  • Sound analytical and organizational skills with ability to prioritize effectively
