Job Description

SF recruitment are working with a leading manufacturer within its field, in the Bedworth area to recruit a buyer. The business manufacturers highly technical products for a range of industries including transportation, construction & marine. Part of a smallpurchasing function this role is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a few years purchasing experience who are looking for their next role, or those who are at purchasing assistant/admin looking to step up into a fully-fledged buyer role.Role Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of overall Strategic Procurement for the business
  • Manage tactical procurement activities with daily routines and deadlines installed and adhered to.
  • To become an authority in the use of Integrated MRP within optimising systems functionality and performance via systems driven management reporting.
  • Aid in supplier development planning with key supplier groups
  • Manage ongoing cost down program(s) and initiatives.
  • Consult with Team Management on regular basis on complex supplier issues or policy decisions.
  • Promote and deliver continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with colleagues.
  • Monitors suppler quality, initiating containment activity and agreeing sustainable corrective action with suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance on regular basis, putting development plans in place and validate/approve all major price increases.
  • Research and evaluate global market commodity prices to ensure cost effective compliance and accurate benchmarking.
  • Provide monthly report to senior management.
Required Skills:
  • Procurement and/or supply chain related experience with a manufacturing/engineering environment essential
  • experience of sourcing mechanical components / commodities desirable
  • Proficient in the use of MRP software packages.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross functional teams.
