HCA UK are incredibly proud to be awarded ‘Private Hospital Group of the Year ‘ 2020 at the Health Investor Awards.Job - Lead EchocardiographerLocation - The Lister Hospital, LondonContract Type - Fixed Term ContractHours- 30 hours per week (Tuesday to Friday 9am-5pm)Salary Range - Competitive (dependent upon skills and experience)Job DescriptionAs a Lead Echocardiographer you fill a primarily clinical role in the field of echocardiography. You will be required to deliver expert care for patients and be a point of contact for customer and consultant queries.You will also assist in managing the technical resources efficiently and effectively, and be involved in business development, as required for the department manager.The Lead Clinical Physiologist is accountable both to the Department manager, and accountable for the staff that report in to them.Attractive and competitive salary, dependent upon skills and experience, along with access to great employee benefits such as private healthcare, gymflex and the option to buy and sell holiday.Duties and responsibilities

  • Demonstrate highly developed knowledge or skills in a broad range of cardiac ultrasound including 2D, 3D, contrast and bubble echo investigations Perform a wide range of procedures on adults, and demonstrate a willingness to develop basic diagnostic skills
  • Follow departmental guidelines and protocols for each procedure relevant to the post ensuring quality control.
  • Analyse and interpret real time results, which may be complex and either urgent or routine in nature, and to communicate these findings to other relevant team members and cardiologist.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in the patients’ clinical status in fields of Clinical Physiology.
  • Act autonomously to deliver appropriate and individualised patient care at all times e.g. Anticipating the need for further investigations on the basis of findings from cardiac tests.
  • Provide technical cover to all areas of the Clinical Physiology service, within boundaries of personal competencies, as needs of department dictate including flexible working hours and on call commitment
  • Prepare equipment ensuring daily checks and calibration is carried out on all cardiac investigations equipment used in the cardiology department carrying out day to day troubleshooting
  • Skills and Experience
  • Registered/accredited by the RCCP, IBHRE and/or BHRS
  • Confident communicator with high levels of written and spoken English
  • Working knowledge of IT systems, such as Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Previous experience of working within a private hospital is desirable
  • Extensive experience working in the same field
  • About the FacilityThe Lister Hospital and its outpatient centres are located in the heart of Chelsea, and have consistently provided care and treatment in London for over 30 years. We offer access to leading consultants from Londons top teaching hospitals and contemporary treatment, with several highly specialised units including fertility, gastroenterology medicine and orthopaedics and surgery. With 60 beds across three floors, we offer a specialised service, bespoke to our patient’s needs. Our six-bed critical care unit provides dedicated specialised care to seriously ill patients with a range of surgical or medical conditions.
