Job Description

Job: Residential Support Worker Contract: Permanent Location: BirminghamHours: Full time Pay: £20,816 + generous sleep-in allowance of £75.74, bringing the total to £29,494.Job Role: Childrens Residential Support WorkerBrook Street Social Care have several exciting opportunities for a Childrens Residential Support Worker to join a warm and supportive childrens home in Birmingham. This facility plays a crucial role in providing essential care to children and young peopleaged 7 to 18 years with complex behavioural needs.Your Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with children and making a positive impact on their lives.
  • Having an open mind and the ability to support children exhibiting challenging behaviour or emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) are essential.
  • Supervising and monitoring children as directed
  • Maintaining accurate, factual, and legible written records, such as records on the childs behaviour, telephone messages, and communication notes.
  • Ensuring the protection and safeguarding of children from harm both within and outside the home environment.
  • Treating children with respect and dignity, fostering feelings of trust and safety.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of a safe environment in compliance with Health and Safety and other legal requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Children and Young People or working towards.
  • Relevant work experience within the childcare sector in residential settings, outreach, community work.
  • Previous experience in supporting children with EBD or challenging behaviour is beneficial.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • Possession of a drivers license with own car (Desirable).
In recognition of your dedication, the annual salary for this role is £20,816, supplemented by a generous sleep-in allowance of £75.74, bringing the total to £29,494.
