Job Description

Sayjo Recruitment Ltdare acting on behalf of a client to recruit a full time, permanent Website Developer / Designer. Our client is a well-established Group of companies, this role sits within a friendly Marketing department, based in Elland.We are looking for a talented website developer and designer who can manage existing websites/systems, and design and build new ones. Managing 9 different websites, including a couple of online stores, the right candidate will be able to keep the websitesup to date with new products, events etc, while simultaneously developing new websites and landing pages to deadlines.Required Skills:

  • Proficient in HTML & CSS (Ideally SASS),
  • Plenty of experience in WordPress,
  • Experience in WooCommerce,
  • Ability to create and edit custom WordPress themes and templates,
  • Able to build websites fully optimised for all screen sizes,
  • A sharp eye for detail,
  • Use of design software for website mock-ups such as Adobe XD, Photoshop or InDesign,
  • A knowledge of current design trends.
Bonus Skills:
  • Able to manage yourself and your projects, and working to deadlines,
  • Comfortable with software such as GitHub for version control,
  • Consider SEO when building new pages,
  • Experience with Magento 2,
  • Some basic skill with PHP & JavaScript,
  • An understanding of current accessibility standards,
  • Able to customize WooCommerce templates.
General Skills:
  • Able to work as part of a marketing team to collaborate on projects and respond positively to feedback,
  • Can liaise with multiple departments across the group,
  • Competent with problem solving and self-learning,
  • Always willing to learn and grow - and knowing when to ask for help,
  • Excellent organisation skills to keep yourself on track.
What youll be working on:
  • Updating and maintaining a collection of 9 different websites, including 1 on WooCommerce, and 1 on Magento,
  • Updating the Magento site with new products,
  • Overseeing the transition of the Magento website to a WordPress/WooCommerce site,
  • Re-designing and developing new versions of the existing websites, to modern web standards,
  • Supporting the marketing team with various other projects, mainly design focused.
