Candidates should have strengths in teaching subjects covering numeracy, communication skills, allowing students to graspthese concepts and practically apply them.The post will involve supporting and delivering, the development, monitoring and assessment of Core Skills and Meta Skills subjects to students at the Oatridge campus. Development work will involve communicating with staff on all campuses to help coordinatechanges and updates to learning and assessment materials. In addition to this, there will also be elements of support and verification work required that will be coordinated with colleagues in the support team and academic programmes to meet the requirementsof accrediting bodies.Key duties and Responsibilities: Be an active and engaged member of the departmentPreparation and delivery of Core Skills subjects to include Communications, Numeracy, and ICT, Developing teaching, tutoring and assessment materials for a range of Meta-Skills, as well as delivering tutoring to students in this area.Have a student-focussed approach to teaching and be able to engage young people using a blended-learning delivery approach Development of teaching and learning materials including those required for flexible and blended learning Acting as co-ordinating module leader and verifier for cross-campus unit/module development and Quality Assurance for internal and awarding body accountability Creating and conducting student assessment in accordance with Awarding Body standards Maintaining appropriate records of teaching and assessment Maintaining appropriate records of attendance Provision of educational guidance and student support as required Contribute to checking the validity of instruments of assessment against the performance criteria being assessed, as part of the internal moderation process Actively engage in SRUCs quality enhancement and communication strategies and their associated procedures Attendance at support team and any other relevant team meetings with staff and students.Engaging in associated CPD Actively engage in SRUCs performance management processes.
