Job Description

Are you a hands on individual with the ability to take on a creative approach to problem solvingWe have an exciting opportunity to join our clients manufacturing business as a Health and Safety Manager!The successful candidate will support the group in all aspects of Health & Safety. This role will suit someone with who has experience in Health and Safety and quality assurance . If you are someone who is looking to further develop their career this couldbe a great opportunity for you .The ideal candidate will have the following skills :

  • Ideally an electronics / electrical manufacturing background.
  • Understanding of latest ISO Management Systems to ensure compliance.
  • Auditing qualified.
  • Experience in managing a Health & Safety function.
Duties include:
  • Working with the Senior Management Team to ensure the Company complies to H&S legislation / regulations, providing advice & guidance where necessary.
  • Carry out all accident investigations and provide information to HR Manager as required in respect of PI claims.
  • Carry out H&S inductions for all new starters.
  • Carry out PPE assessments, order & issue PPE to workforce.
  • Organise health surveillance medicals.
  • Carry out all risk assessments including COSHH / MSDS.
  • Co-ordinate and organise legislative training as required, ie: Forklift, First Aid, Crane, Lifting & Manual Handling etc.
  • Arrange air monitoring, LEV testing and noise surveys as necessary.
  • In conjunction with the Maintenance Department ensure all H&S / Maintenance servicing and inspections are carried out and logged accordingly. Includes (but is not limited to) fire extinguishers, security alarms, boiler, compressors, PUWERetc
  • Work with all Departments in an integrated manner to help improve and sustain all aspects of Quality, H&S and Environmental aspects of the business.
