Temporary Steel Fabrication EstimatorLocation: Based at our premises in Chester-le-Street, DH2 1AGRate: £24,000+, based on experienceContract: Temporary, 6 monthsStarting: ImmediateHours: Normal hours of work [40 hours]7.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Flexible working available.Description:Steelcraft Ltd designs manufactures and installs a range of architectural steel products for the construction industry in the North East. This range includes railings, gates, balconies, balustrades and handrails but we are also involved in bespoke industrialfabrication. We also sell standard products internationally through our e-commerce brand Forjj.In order to meet a short-term staff shortage, we require an experienced Sales Estimator to work as part of the sales team. Your role would involve:* Review of tender drawings and documentation including quantity take-offs.* Prepare accurate summaries and costing sheets for labour, material and services.* Produce clear and concise quotation documents.* Communicate & raise tender queries with clients.* Spot value engineering opportunities without compromising on quality standards.* Solve customer problems pre-design.* Attend occasional site sales surveys & pre-contract meetings.* Prepare standard costs against new in-house designs.* Hand over successful tenders to the contracts team.* Follow up quotes, maintaining & building relationships with customers.We typically receive around 100 enquiries per month and produce quotation values from £2,000 to £500,000The successful candidate would ideally be able to participate in the development of our e-commerce offering alongside other members of the senior management.You must be able to express yourself clearly, accurately and concisely in written and spoken communications. Good mathematical ability is also required.
