Job Description

The RoleNigel Wright are supporting a Higher Education Organisation with their search for a Student Records Manager. The role of Student Records Manager will support all stages of student administration including enrolment, student record management, processing ofstudent change in circumstances (programme transfers, break in studies, withdrawals), student module selections, curriculum records and data returns to statutory bodies e.g. HESA. The role will also support the wider Student Registry team at peak times ofthe academic year.Duties:

  • Manage the Student Records Team
  • Oversee the student enrolment and registration process to ensure that data collected is accurate and consistent to meet the potentially conflicting internal and external requirements.
  • Keep up to date with statutory body requirements and embedding these into student records business processes.
  • Manage and develop the annual cycle of student statutory reporting to HESA to ensure that the University is accurately represented.
  • Play a key role in the coordination of development user acceptance testing for significant system developments and upgrades.
  • Building relationships with peers in other institutions via appropriate student records networks.
The PersonSkills and attributes needed for the role:
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional practitioner with knowledge and expertise in the delivery and development of systems-related business processes within the organisation.
  • Experience of implementing policies and procedures and supporting change and service improvements
  • Experience of providing specialist advice and guidance to a range of customers and colleagues, including more senior colleagues.
  • Experience of participating in internal or external networks to share and discuss good practice, develop strong and productive working relationships and positively influence the University’s reputation.
  • Significant experience of managing and developing a team or teams
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • The ability to develop effective working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Advanced IT skills, including the ability to manipulate data sets using Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Knowledge and experience of ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational policy and guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy whilst working under pressure.
  • Experience of dealing with difficult people/customers
