Job Description

Transport, Fleet and Logistics Manager who has excellent attention to detail, the ability to take charge and experience in a similar role is required for a well-established Company based in Droylsden, Tameside, Greater Manchester, NorthWest England.SALARY: £40,000 per annumLOCATION: Droylsden, Tameside, Greater Manchester, North West EnglandJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentWORKING HOURS: 40 hours Monday to FridayJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Transport, Fleet and Logistics Manager who has excellent attention to detail, the ability to take charge and experience in a similar role.Working as the Transport, Fleet and Logistics Manager you will oversee the day to day running of the transport department and fleet for the Manchester site.As the Transport, Fleet and Logistics Manager you will prepare and manage budgets, manage staff performance and develop and issue KPIs to the team, ensuring that targets are met.APPLY TODAYIf this job looks like your ideal position, then please send in your CV as soon as possible for our Recruitment Team to review.DUTIESYour duties and responsibilities as the Transport, Fleet and Logistics Manager include:

  • Overseeing the day to day running of the transport department and fleet
  • Planning the drivers daily routes on the vehicles in line with business needs
  • Liaising with 3rd party hauliers to arrange movement of products
  • Manage and reduce fuel costs ensuring that drivers are working efficiently whilst adhering to the WTD
  • Develop and issue KPIs to all your team and ensure that targets are met
  • Provide detailed and timely reports on all aspects of the operation to your line manager
  • Ensure department policy and procedures are met i.e., pre-start checks are carried out
  • Work closely with / oversee the customer service team to ensure operations run smoothly
  • Review and improve current processes to ensure efficient running of the department
  • Prepare and manage budgets within the operation effectively
  • Promote H&S policy and procedures to ensure compliance processes are in place and are adhered to
  • Manage performance and be involved in disciplinary hearings in line with HR policy and procedures
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Must Have excellent attention to detail
  • Must be able to use own initiative and work autonomously
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Must have the ability to take charge and direct others
