Job Description

Trailer and HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician with in-depth knowledge and experience of service and repair work and maintenance on Heavy Goods and Commercial Vehicles is required for a well-established recycling company based in Droylsden,Tameside, Greater Manchester, North West England.SALARY: CompetitiveLOCATION: Droylsden, Tameside, Greater Manchester, North West EnglandJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentWORKING HOURS: Monday - FridayJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trailer and HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician with in-depth knowledge and experience of service and repair work and maintenance on Heavy Goods and Commercial Vehicles.Working as a Trailer HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician your duties will include:

  • Maintain and service the companys HGV trailers such as walking floor/blower trailers
  • Basic day to day maintenance of the companys Fleet Heavy Goods Vehicles
  • Repair Minor Accident Damage
  • Carry out Fault Diagnosis
  • To record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out on each vehicle
  • Liaise with the Service and Parts teams for updates and availability
  • Actively seek solutions to problem
  • Safety inspections and preparation of vehicle for MOT
  • A good understanding of Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, permits to work and other related Health & Safety documentation associated to the job role
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSAs a Trailer HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
  • In depth knowledge and experience of service and repair work and maintenance on Heavy Goods and Commercial Vehicles
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • HGV Licence
  • Driver CPC
  • Qualification or proven experience in another role
