Job Description

Are you an experienced Payroll Manager well versed in PAYE and looking for a new challenge This position might be just for you!We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent time management skills and attention to detail as well as having extensive knowledge of payroll activities, concepts and legislation.As the Payroll Manager, youll use your extensive experience and knowledge of payroll and HMRC legislation to ensure effective and efficient processing within the team.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a permanent role and a new challenge.Responsibilities: Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for checking and managing the end to end weekly & monthly payroll processes, ensuring strict deadlines and specific timescales at met
  • Deal with high volume data processing duties, checking payroll information to ensure the payroll system is up to date, accurate and correct
  • Give guidance and ensure compliance to payroll and employment law as well as internal procedures including petty cash, tax and pension
  • Engage with managers to ensure compliance and understanding of payroll requirements and liaise with all levels of staff on all aspects of PAYE
  • Verification that all employee payments satisfy national laws and guidelines and dealing with HMRC or external bodies regarding audits
  • Submitting reports to HMRC and NEST Pensions in line with statutory requirements and within necessary deadlines
  • Producing Year End reporting
  • Manage and develop payroll processes
  • Analysing and reporting on payroll data required for site and group, as requested
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll updates
  • Ensure complex payroll, expenses, tax and pensions queries are resolved (and/or elevated as necessary)
  • Monitor and report on site and group required KPIs
  • Providing resource and expertise to site projects, specifically in relation to payroll
  • Complete required pension reconciliations and all other processes such as year-end payroll (P60s, P11Ds etc)
  • Ensure correct processing of statutory payments and deductions, salary sacrifices and pension schemes
  • Management and development of Payroll team members
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times, ensuring department information is accurate and relevant in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations.
  • Responsibility for 60 monthly payroll staff and 360 Weekly Payroll Staff

  • Excellentinterpersonal and communicationskills.
  • Managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Computer literacy in using MS Office and payroll software
