Summary Were looking for two Stone Masons to join our Masonry Specialist Craft Team based at the National Trusts Masonry Workshop at Hardwick Hall, near Chesterfield in Derbyshire. The team has a base at Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire and works at National Trust properties in the Midland and East of England Region. Hardwick Hall is a Grade I listed Elizabethan masterpiece, set within a diverse listed parkland. The Hall is a symmetrical delight of stone and glass, the stone used to construct the Hall was quarried on site and a team of Stonemasons have been based atHardwick since its construction in 1597. The Stonemasons yard is located a short distance from the main hall, with picturesque views of the surrounding parkland. What youll be doing You dont have to be a Master Craftsperson to apply. If you have experience in stonemasonry, a strong work ethic, like to work and learn as part of a team and have the social skills to match then we would love to hear from you. The Specialist Craft Teams are new within the National Trust, and thus were looking for someone who is dynamic and willing to learn and evolve as new ways of working are established. As part of your role, youre encouraged to voice your ideas of how theteam can improve over time.The team can be commissioned to undertake any manner of traditional stone masonry work on our historic buildings and structures across the region. Youll be working on anything from stonemasonry pieces in our banker shop to being out on site pointing andfixing the stones that have been worked to paving and rebuilding historic structures within the region.Youll be expected to engage with property visitors when undertaking work on site, including answering their questions and helping with engagement events when required.
