Job Description

Spencer Clarke Group are working closely alongside Havering Council to provide them a with a Rehabilitation Officer to join their team on a Contract Basis!** Full Timeto start ASAP – 3+Month on going contact ** Rate - £28 per hour- Negotiable dependent upon experience require Your Role;

  • To assess and review customers/carers needs and provide service/equipment as appropriate to FACS criteria.
  • To assess customers within a residential/nursing placement environment and provide advice/equipment as appropriate to sensory needs.
  • Teaching a variety of specialist communication methods in relation to sight loss.
  • Manage a caseload and maintain accurate records. Use of IT system to ensure information is appropriately recorded in accordance with council policy and procedure
  • To use and assess the most appropriate communication methods to meet the needs of customers with a sensory loss.
    • Experience
  • Experience of working with and supporting blind and partially sighted people of all abilities, backgrounds and levels of emotional adjustment, and their families and carers.
  • Experience of teaching mobility/orientation, daily living skills and use of low vision equipment.
  • Experience of undertaking short presentations to other staff groups, schools etc. about visual impairment services.
  • Experience of working with blind and partially sighted people with a learning disability.
  • Experience of working with people with a dual sensory loss.
    • Qualifications
  • Certificate or Dip HE in Rehabilitation Studies or equivalent.
