We are currently seeking applications for this Criminal Investigations Managers role.The primary role is to respond to criminal activity within the regulated industry, grounded by the Authority’s responsibility in protecting the public and maintaining the effectiveness of businesses providing security industry services.To lead the Authority’s response to organised non compliance of the PSIA and wider criminal behaviour which cannot be resolved by compliance means, principally through the use of criminal and financial investigation.Within the Inspections and Enforcement function, manage a team of home-based Investigation Officers operating throughout the UK, who focus on criminal investigation and recovering criminal benefit (POCA).To develop and contribute to SIA compliance strategies are successful through risk-led deployment of the team.The post holder will act as Senior Investigating Officer on all Authority led investigations regarding regulatory offending.The post holder should provide tactical expertise to investigations and ensure compliance with all relevant legislative requirements.The post holder is responsible for continually develop the efficiency of the team and its practices to ensure the wider regulated community, via application fees, receive value for money.Maintaining and developing relationships with appointed legal advisors and Counsel.The role requires successful relationships across the organisation and partner organisations; criminal offending may be identified at any point during the work of the Authority.The communication of successful investigatory outcomes is central to this role, to encourage a more responsible industry and to act as a deterant to ongoing or future criminal offending.Responsible for team staffing costs, investigatory budgets and oversight of legal budgets in relation to external prosecution charges. The role holder will also have responsibility for directing income spend in relation to funds recovered under the Proceeds of Crime Act.A good understanding of relevant UK legislation and criminal procedures, including CPIA, Fraud Act, PACE. Subject expert in relation to Private Security Industry Act (2001) and its application by the Authority. Understanding of differing requirements across legal juristictions.• Knowledge of disclosure investigatory methods and evidence presentation.• Understanding of Proceeds of Crime Act and practical application to criminal offending.• Multi jurisdtictional knowledge across the UK; ability to identify different approaches to investigations based on legal requirements, political or procedural variences.If you meet the basic requirement and would like to see the full job spec , please send me your CV
