Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manager for our Derby facility. This role has overall day to day responsibility for the whole plant. You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals within a global operation looking for a like-mindedManager who is hungry to succeed.Bodycote operates an international network of facilities serving a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive, power generation, oil & gas, construction, machine building medical and transportation.   • Ensure that the site is operating in a safe manner and champion safety.
  • Manage all departments, production, quality, customer service, engineering and administration functions.
  • Visit customers and suppliers and build relationships.
  • Drive a culture of total customer satisfaction.
  • Strive to achieve a world Class working environment for our employees.
  • Produce monthly reports for the site and analyse key variances to the P+L and action accordingly.
  • Deliver the agreed P+L for the site in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for all site KPIs and delivery of improvements in line with the sites business plan.
  • Working with the UK Operations leadership develop the Site Strategy to deliver the top level KPIs
  • Create budgets and forecasts for the site liaising with the sales team.
  • Deliver cost benefit using TPM and 5S and Visual Management Systems
  • Maintain site quality accreditations and identify opportunities for further accreditations based on market requirements.
  • Deliver year on year cost improvements through Lean Projects and Continuous Improvements culture.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
  • Strong leadership, with good operational / management experience.
  • Track record of delivering continuous improvement projects in business performance through sales, operations and culture change and have the drive and vision to lead the site to world class levels of service.
  • Results orientated with a flair and passion for business improvement.
  • Strong customer relationship skills.
  • Good understanding of quality systems.
  • Degree qualified - Business and/or Engineering.
  • Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing and experience training direct reports in effective use of these principles.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to identify and extract the potential of all employees.
  • Qualified Material Scientist or Metallurgist
Preferred experience:
  • Operated a AS9100 Quality system
  • Heat Treatments of SuperAlloys
  • Experience of a NADCAP operation
  • Metallurgical Thermal Processing
