Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Tooling Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department that is responsible for all current model, new product introduction, engineering, and continuous improvement activities within the plant.Client DetailsAn international family-owned company, providing customers with energy-saving and easy to operate solutions for heating, cooling and hot water. In its core business of heating technologies the company is the second-largest European manufacturer in this sectorand is also active in ventilation and air-conditioning technology markets.Description

  • You will be part of a team of engineers collaborating across functions, from Production, Quality, Supply Chain and maintenance.
  • Work with the tooling team to help resolve quality as well as mechanical problems and repair minor issues along with equipment adjustments as required.
  • Provide technical reports / documentation of tool design, changes and improvements prior to tooling manufacture or modification, including feedback to the tool makers, The companies Tool team and production.
  • Supporting supplier tool trials and material supply, providing technical assistance at supplier tool trials.
  • Generate tooling reports with recommendations for tooling improvements during tooling development and into production support.
  • Provide relevant component samples for downstream process trials and sample builds.
  • Driving actions with cross functional teams to improve all KPIs for ensuring production attainment, efficiency, quality, and scrap reduction objectives accomplishment
  • Support production and tool technician in ensuring robust systems and processes are in place for managing tools and change overs, bringing the principles of SMED to all equipment change overs
  • Work with NPI Project engineers to implement new products to existing and new production lines
Profile
  • Educated to degree level but individuals with HNC, relevant qualifications and industrial experience will be considered with experience in a similar role.
  • A strong background in a mechanical engineering, as well as relevant practical experience in a tooling / sheet metal manufacturing environment.
  • Experience / knowledge of special purpose bending, forming and cutting machine, such as CNC turret press.
  • Knowledge of jigs and fixturing for welding and forming of metal parts.
  • A proven track record as a tooling / manufacturing engineer delivering significant value to an organisation and have a sense of urgency to deliver to your internal customers solutions on time and to requirement.
  • A strong understanding of press shop and tooling control O.E.E, CMM reports, Cpk, FMEA, control plans, Etc.
  • It is desirable to have previous experience with Amada Turret/Press brakes; Trumpf laser cutting and anything including guillotines, notching, punching and nibbling machines.
  • Full Driving Licence.
