Job Description

PR and Content ExecutiveDerby£30000 - £32000Hybrid workingWe are looking for a talented PR & Content Marketing Specialist to join our team. Over the last 20 years, the Marketing Team has expanded substantially, from a few determined individuals to over 25 creative and passionate peopleThere is lots to do Working closely with the digital marketing team, you will be responsible for devising the multi-channel PR and content marketing strategy. Your focus will be to increase customer awareness of the brand on a national scale through sharp and impactful contentwhich resonates with our customers.You will:

  • Manage digital PR agency against agreed KPIs/budget to ensure maximum results - driving national coverage with backlinks. Working closely with our data analyst and using analytic tools to monitor the effectiveness of backlinks and digital PR - constantlyanalysing to improve the overall strategy.
  • Devise and implement a multi-channel PR and content programme - inclusive of press releases, by-lined articles, blogs and related social media messaging and content - while monitoring all activity and results (both qualitive and quantitative) on an ongoingbasis.
  • Ensure all content is reaching relevant blogs, newswires (via PR agency) and work with content marketing executive to align PR/content from the expert advice section of our website.
  • Maintain and effective in-house press office function by ensuring the journalist and influencer database is kept up to date, spokespeople biographies and corporate photography kept current.
  • Media relations and day-to-day management of our press office - responsible for handling journalist enquiries, preparing reactive and proactive statements and advising senior spokespeople. Ensuring messaging is in line with brand positioning and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all appropriate media opportunities are communicated to relevant spokespeople and full briefing notes/preparation is provided - with support from PR agency.
  • Manage the companys annual awards calendar - ensuring the company is entered into all relevant industry awards and advising staff/advisers on how to maximise their application.This includes drafting and editing of award applications working with our CEOand sales team to drive the awards campaign. The company has won over 150 awards for the quality of its advice and service and must maintain this level of success.
  • Project manage our key integrated PR/marketing campaigns and ensure project delivery is on time and within budget ensuring the wider marketing team deliver against deadlines e.g., design/network marketing/social/PR/PPC and digital. You will need to workwith our network marketing team to maximise content opportunities for our 1,600+ adviser network on national hero campaigns. Regionalising content where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the social media Manger to create and execute the companys central social media strategy against agreed monthly KPIs and annual targets. Spot opportunities to improve the social media content and work with others in the team to ensureall social media channels are being optimised. Includes monthly reporting upwards.
  • Work with our data analyst to analyse customer data and identity newsworthy opportunities for PR/content on a quarterly basis with support from PR agency/senior spokespeople.
  • Provide a basic press office function to the network of advisers - ensuring upkeep of press release templates and media handling guidance as the national press office for all staff/advisers.
  • Ensure the corporate communications protocol and media handling guidelines are always adhered to by staff/advisers - be the main point of contact in any crisis communications situations.
About You!Full training will be provided to ensure you can quickly get up to speed, but to be successful in this role you need to demonstrate:
  • Previous experience in a PR/comms/content marketing role.
  • Journalism or equivalent background.
  • Excellent copywriter for all audiences; trade/B2B press releases, consumer facing features and social media. Demonstrating editing, proofreading and art direction abilities.
  • Proven track record of securing press coverage including press trade, nationals (broadcast/online) and social media.
  • Digital PR skills - strong reporting and coverage/SEO analytics skill. You know how to prove the value of digital PR and demonstrate a strong ROI year-on-year.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and willingness to learn about mortgages/financial services - working within a regulated environment to ensure messaging is compliant.
  • Media relations skills - experience of handling journalists within a sensitive environment and advising key senior spokespeople on comment opportunities.
  • Proactive and creative content generation - evidence of maximising content for all channels and making sure it works as hard as possible across all customer touch points, e.g., PR, digital, social media, design, and video.
  • Experience of managing integrated PR/marketing campaigns and generating newsworthy coverage and content.
  • Budget handling experience - to maximise the output from content e.g., external research or investment in influences to outreach our content to first time buyers or prospective homeowners.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with a variety of professionals from senior leadership to staff-level.
  • Proven experience in managing external agencies or some agency experience.
