Job Description

This fantastic not-for-profit community interest company, that provides a diverse range of services to the NHS frontline, is looking to hire a Marketing & Engagement Manager, on a 12 month fixed term contract.Working as an integral part of the wider Communications and Engagement team, this is a key position in the organisation and is pivotal in planning marketing campaigns that support recruitment into patient facing and non-patient facing professions, in theEast Midlands region.The role includes promoting the organisation as an employer brand that is inclusive, innovative, and a diverse place to work, where people are appreciated, rewarded, and recognised for their contribution.The role is also key to growing engagement between the business, stakeholders, and colleague populations and to identify what is unique, special, and valuable about the organisation, its teams and its services and use this insight to inform, develop andenable marketing and communications campaigns.Reporting into the Deputy Director of Communications & Engagement, key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Deputy Director of Communications and Engagement to support and deliver the communications strategy in line with overarching business objectives.
  • Lead the design and management of marketing solutions in support of operational HR peers and wider stakeholder groups.
  • Partner with key stakeholders (Executive Committee, Operational Leads, Business Partners, and Finance Partners) to determine a multi-channel approach that supports engagement strategies.
  • Able to leverage data and analytics to drive the marketing & engagement strategy and business strategy around retention, engagement, and talent management.
  • Grow and develop traditional and innovative sourcing methods, including social media avenues and any emerging technology-based methods.
  • Proactively enhance engagement effectiveness through systematic development of industry, internal and external relations.
  • Uses market analysis, profiling, and targeted research, to create, develop and implement value propositions and marketing communication campaigns - supporting organisational positioning in the recruitment market as well as people retention.
  • Build a strong employer brand through storytelling that:
    • Projects a positive image of the company.
    • Promotes core values, leadership, and culture.
    • Creates a sense of identity.
    • Ensures stakeholders see the employee value proposition.
    • Aligns the employer brand with the public brand to support business goals.
    • Builds a positive company reputation and strengthens their external brand.
  • Create, develop, and produce a range of branded communication materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Grow engagement between the business, stakeholders, and populations - organising and attending events, developing two-way feedback mechanisms, and using collected intelligence to support improvement and transformation across the business.
  • Lead, inspire, and motivate team members and support their development.
  • Periodically lead and/or participate in cross-business/cross-company special projects and initiatives related to marketing and engagement.
Person Profile
  • Educated to a post-graduate degree level, in communications, public relations, marketing, a related field or equivalent level of working experience.
  • Qualifications and/or training in marketing (CIM), public relations (CIPR) and journalism.
  • Significant marketing and communications experience, including some in a senior/leadership role.
  • Experience of marketing or public relations agency work, such as senior account management including being part of the business development teams.
  • Excellent track record of delivering successful campaigns using creative approaches.
  • Experience of line management is highly desirable.
  • Previous NHS/public sector/healthcare market experience.
  • Experience of planning and implementing complex communication and marketing plans involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience of organising events, workshops, focus groups, and other group-based feedback and information sharing engagement exercises.
