Job Description Job DescriptionManufacturing EngineerFull timeDerby, UKWhy Rolls-RoyceAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer -Overhaul Repair Capability to join our Services team in Derby.You will utilise ME functional and behavioural competencies to deliver High Performance, LEAN, and improvements focused requirements within the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) community. The role will respond to business requirements to improve andsustain Overhaul and Repair capability as the only wholly owned repair and overhaul facility in Rolls-Royces global MRO network.The EOS business strategy, as the lead facility in the network, is to provide repair development and network training, while maintaining a legacy portfolio to ensure we are a sustainable improvements based business for our global customer base.Primarily this involves driving Built-in Quality and instilling a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement while delivering compliant processes, methods, and systems to our customers, Rolls-Royce, and regulatory bodies.Were one of the worlds leading industrial technology companies, and its all thanks to our people. So we encourage flexible working arrangements and support hybrid working wherever possible, so you can always be at your best - wherever and whenever you work.What you will be doing:You will provide technical support to operations and execute Manufacturing Engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet businessand customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and leadtime (SQCD).

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, flexibility to operate in a changing manufacturing environment, and the ability to work both individually and as a member of a multi-skilled team.
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes are capable of achieving and sustaining the design intent, and that processes are followed so that our products and those of our suppliers conform to their specification. Rigorously raise, investigate and resolve safetyrelated issues.
  • Drive a culture of zero defects within the organisation. Works with all functions to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards including RRMS, SABRe and ExportContol and Intellectual Property requirements.
  • Ensure application of manufacturing process controls within their area of accountability, with authorisation subject to appropriate delegation. Act as MEA or PCA signatory, where applicable.

  • You will be qualified to degree level or aspiring to a degree level in an engineering discipline / manufacturing environment.
  • Currently recognised or aspiring to become IEng or CEng accreditedYou will have knowledge of the foundational ME toolsets and RRPS principles.
  • You will have experience of systems engineering and problem solving (7-step / 8D) methodologies or equivalent problem resolution techniques and you must have good written and oral communication skills, be capable of working with the minimum of direction,while coping with the ambiguity that comes from being the lead facility within a global MRO network.
  • Knowledge of EASA Part 145 is desirable but not essential.
