Job Description In-Service Electrical Sensors EngineerFull TimeDerby, HybridWhy Rolls-Royce An exciting opportunity has arisen for a In-Service Electrical Sensors Engineer to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby. Candidates from a broad range of equipment support backgrounds would be considered and specific product-based training willbe provided.We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. We encourage flexible working arrangements and support hybrid working wherever possible, so you can always be at your best - wherever and whenever you work.What youll be doing:The role involves delivering sensor product electro-mechanical design, modification work packages and to provide In-Service sensor product support. It also requires providing technical support to the equipment supply chain, including the assessment of componentchanges and design definition updates.You will also be responsible for:

  • To produce technical reports/operating manuals etc. supporting the delivered equipment.
  • To be accountable for delivering work packages to agreed time and costs.
  • To respond to and rectify in-service sensors equipment defects/requests for technical information from the equipment operator. This may on occasion require on-site, or on-board support.
  • To evaluate the safety and integrity of the sensors products to ensure that they remain safe to operate through life and to produce safety case design documentation to support the safe operation of the plant.

  • HND / Bachelors degree in an electrical, mechanical or other relevant engineering discipline or suitable experience in the development or support of sensors.
  • Competent with using MS Office applications.
  • Experience of Submarine or other nuclear industry/high integrity controls systems. (Preferred)
  • Experience with the Engineering Lifecycle (Initial Requirements through to Disposal). (Preferred).
