Job Description

Role: Independent Domestic Violence Advocate - IDVABased: DerbyshireHours: Full Time – Hybrid WorkingRate:£12-16 per hour – depending on experienceQualifications:SafeLives (previously CAADA) and/ or DAPA is highly desirableStart Date: ASAPDuration: 3-6 months (Potential Temp to Perm)Our client, a specialist Domestic Abuse charity within the East Midlands, is looking to recruit an experienced IDVA to join their established team.Synopsis of duties:

  • Providing a high-quality frontline service to victims experiencing domestic violence, delivering a service to those at highest risk
  • Providing short, medium and longer-term interventions which enable them to be safer, achieve better health and wellbeing and longer-term autonomy and resilience
  • Managing a high caseload of clients that are deemed high-risk
  • Carrying out risk and needs assessments (including CAADA DASH RIC assessments)
  • Agreeing support and safety plans
  • Attend MARAC meetings
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience of supporting and advocating on behalf of high-risk victims of domestic violence
  • Ability to crisis manage and work well under pressure
  • Strong organisation and diary management skills
  • Proven track record of successfully carrying and managing a high caseload
  • Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months and/ or registered on the DBS Update Service
